Perth welcomed competitors and judges from around the world to the twelfth WA Oceanafest. The competition held in conjunction with FineFoods Perth was held over three days, with the highlight being the Restaurant of Champions, nine teams which included the national teams of Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia prepared and served three course menus of eighty covers. Chief judge Gissur Gudmundsson along with Martin Kobald, Otto Wiebel and Rudi Muller confirmed the competition to be of a very high standard

WACS World president Gissur Gudmundsson announced that the competition in 2011 would be upgraded from International status to Continental status, which now places it among the top competitions in the world.
